Research has shown that music is a powerful motivational tool for your workouts. One study, conducted at the University of Maryland, showed that people who listen to music during their workouts tend to exercise more frequently, for longer periods of time, and with greater intensity. Plus, in addition to getting better workouts, people who listen to music enjoy their workouts more than people who don't.
It's Simple - Music Makes Exercise Fun!
So what's so special about the music here at workoutmusic.com? We're glad you asked! Unlike any other music, workout music is designed exclusively for maximum motivational impact during exercise. With workout music, you get fun melodies that will have your mind singing and dancing, plus driving rhythms that will have your body moving at the perfect tempos for an optimal workout. Let's take a look at some of the unique features that make workout music work for you:
1. Workout Music Is High Energy
Workout music incorporates only the highest energy songs available. If you listen to the music in your home collection, you'll find that most artists like to take you through a range of emotions as you progress through the songs on an album, and that's one of the things that makes them so enjoyable. But when you're working out, there is nothing enjoyable about a slow or sad or tragic song that knocks you out of your zone. With workout music, you get only uplifting, motivating, adreneline-pumping energy!
2. Workout Music Is Non-Stop
Workout music is continuously-mixed, with the same smooth and creative transitions you hear from a good dance club DJ. Each song overlaps the next, so that the energy never stops. With other music, you will find that even a short break between songs (not to mention a few radio commercials) can be enough to bring your mind crashing back from fantasy to reality.
3. Workout Music Is The Perfect Tempo
Whether you are a moderate intensity walker or a higher intensity jogger, workout music is available in the perfect tempo to keep your body moving to the beat. If you've ever enjoyed dancing, then you know how rhythm can just take over and move your body like a pulsing autopilot. Most workout music gradually speeds up (within a limited range) during each workout to give you the best possible results. 4. Workout Music Is The Right Duration
Workout music tapes and CDs are generally formatted into two 30-, 45-, or 60-minute music blocks. This gives you flexibility and control to select the workout that's right for you. Many of the longer workout blocks (particularly the 60-minute programs) include slower tempo music before and after the main sections which is perfect for adding warm-ups, toning, cool-downs, and stretching to your workouts. You can extend the shorter programs by combining the two workouts, or by purchasing separate toning and stretching music to complete your workout.
